Laura Givens has been many things in her quest for creative fulfillment. Fresh out of art school she labored away for a couple of years as a professional silk-screener, getting her daily high on the cleaning chemicals. She has done advertising art while pursuing her life-long ambitions as a cartoonist. In the 1990s she became immersed in comedy improv as well as writing and directing shoestring budget movies.
When Laura became enthralled with the possibilities of digital art, she honed those skills by doing hundreds of book and magazine covers for publishers all over the world. A few years ago she decided to write short stories which have been published in numerous magazines and anthologies. Along the way Laura has played around with traditional painting, collage, poetry and even teaching. And now she has fallen in love with coloring books.
Laura was born in Holland, Michigan, hung out for a decade in San Francisco, California and currently resides, happily, in Denver, Colorado.
Her quest continues.
